As the EHS Manager of Lonza in Verviers you will coordinate all EHS activities on the site and manage the EHS team. The position reports directly to the Site Head and Managing Director of Verviers, so you will also be working closely with the local management team. We are looking for a person who will be leading through example the safety of our employees and who can adapt to our ever-changing environment and who will be promoting our safety-first environment.
Key responsibilities:
* You will oversee all legal obligations of the Safety Advisor (Code of Well Being at Work) and the implementation of the EHS management system
* You will be responsible for the management of Dangerous goods according to ADR and IATA Regulations
* You will be the Site Security Officer
* Coordinate and participate in the risk analysis activities, propose corrective actions, and ensure the registration of action plans (accidents, incidents, corporate activities, etc.)
* Enhance the EHS Management System, in accordance with Corporate EHS guidelines and legal obligations, and lead the continuous improvement and safety culture on site
* Ensure that the Emergency Response/Crisis Management Plan is in place and functional
* Define adequate PPE and provide safety advice
* Participate in the EHS Corporate Audit, Insurance audits, legal inspection, visit of Occupational doctor and coordinate the corresponding action plans
Key requirements:
* Safety Advisor Level I (according to Belgium law) certification is a must
* Dangerous Good Regulation experience would be beneficial; ie.: IATA and ADR experience
* Demonstrable experience in communicating changes and engaging with employees from all levels
* Fluent French and English knowledge both in verbal and in written
