Responsibilities
PRIMARY:
* Demonstrates a high level of customer service to greet, register, and discharge all patients.
* Cross-train and assist with back-office duties as needed within the scope of practice.
* Accurately collect and input patient demographics and financial information at the time of registration.
* Verify and update all patient insurance information at the time of registration.
* Maintain knowledge of medical insurance plans, including co-pays, deductibles, and coverage limits.
* Stay updated with changes to government and commercial insurance plans.
* Maintain understanding of the Fast Pace self-pay program.
* Collect all insurance, co-pays, or deductibles at the time of registration.
* Answer the phone with a polite, patient-centered manner.
* Facilitate patient flow by notifying providers of patient arrivals and communicating delays appropriately.
* Retrieve, fax, or mail medical records to primary care providers as needed.
* Complete mandatory compliance training and follow processes to maintain compliance standards.
* Maintain friendly relations with clients and employees to foster a positive work atmosphere.
* Perform physical, cognitive, and environmental functions of the position as specified.
* Assist with cleaning and maintaining the clinic environment.
* Welcome new employees and facilitate introductions to team members.
* Support new employee training through job shadowing and coaching opportunities.
* Comply with company standards of operations and adhere to core values.
* Demonstrate proficiency with basic PC skills including typing and software usage.
* Keep the reception area clean and organized.
* Perform other duties as assigned by management.
SECONDARY:
Additional requirements and responsibilities:
* Level 1: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and at least 1 year of customer experience, preferably in urgent care.
* Level 2 & 3: High School Diploma or equivalent with a current CPR license and 3 years of experience in billing and coding, with intermediate computer skills, including typing 70-100 words per minute and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
* Administration duties, including scheduling and training, as assigned by the Clinic or Regional Director.
* *Receive and activate CPR license within 7 days of hire.
Experience Requirements and Preferences:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
* 1 year of medical office experience with basic medical terminology and insurance knowledge preferred.
* 1 year of experience with basic PC use, including standard software such as MS Office.
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
License Requirements:
No license required.
