Career Opportunities: Maintenance Manager (1809)
At our Lummen site, SABCA Limburg, we are specialized in the manufacturing of high-tech composite assemblies for aircraft. We produce integrated skins for flaps and stabilizers using two automatic tape-layers and very large autoclaves. In cooperation with the Engineering office in Brussels, SABCA Limburg is also responsible for the flap track fairings of several aircraft. The Space industry is also present in this plant with the final system integration of Ariane and Vega assemblies.
Mission: You will be responsible for the organization of maintenance and facility activities, with a focus on continuous optimization in terms of cost, quality, timing, safety, and environmental compliance.
Responsibilities:
* Team Management:
o Manage the team of maintenance technicians with the help of team leaders, overseeing daily activities (planning, leave, training, etc.).
o Develop the skills of the maintenance team to enhance efficiency and performance.
* Maintenance Operations:
o Oversee curative, preventive, and predictive maintenance work for production equipment and buildings.
o Plan work requests to ensure efficient execution by the maintenance technicians.
o Identify technical issues and propose solutions to improve equipment performance.
o Ensure technical documentation for machines, buildings, and installations is kept up to date.
* Collaboration with Production:
o Work closely with production teams to prioritize interventions and plan maintenance activities.
* Budget and Resource Management:
o Manage the allocated budget, including forecasting, cost analysis, and ensuring all maintenance and facility expenses remain within budgetary constraints.
o Optimize the management of resources, spare parts, and equipment to control costs.
o Use SAP modules (e.g., SAP PM) for budgeting, tracking, and reporting on maintenance-related expenses.
* Subcontractor and Compliance Management:
o Oversee subcontractors performing work on-site, ensuring they adhere to operational and safety standards.
* Continuous Improvement and Compliance:
o Monitor internal KPIs, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
o Ensure compliance with SQCDP Level 1 & 2, EN9100 quality standards, and ISO 14001 environmental standards.
o Participate in risk assessments and follow up on the resulting action points.
o Provide strong technical support to internal customers, ensuring clear and efficient communication.
Profile:
* Education & Experience:
o Bachelor’s degree in electromechanics or equivalent through experience.
o Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, with expertise in SAP PM or similar systems for maintenance and facilities management.
o Proven experience in building and managing a planned maintenance system, including preventive maintenance schedules and activity tracking.
o Experience in the aviation industry and/or with painting/coating processes is a plus.
* Strong leadership skills, stress-resistant, and able to promote a positive team spirit.
* Hands-on troubleshooting experience with a focus on fieldwork and achieving results.
* Rigor and organization in planning, project management, and continuous improvement.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Office and SAP (S4Hana), with strong financial and operational tracking abilities.
* Trilingual in Dutch, French, and English; knowledge of German is a plus.
* Flexible and available to meet the demands of the role.
