The European School Brussels II is recruiting: 1 EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT ASSISTANT - Secondary cycle 20-hour fixed-duration contract plus 5 teaching periods per week – 01/04/2025 The European Schools are an intergovernmental organisation offering multilingual and multicultural education. The educational support assistant plays an important role in supporting pupils with special needs. The support assistant accompanies the pupil to class during lessons and/or to the playground and ensures that the day runs smoothly. He/she communicates easily with the pupil's various teachers and also with the parents. Swedish mother tongue or C1/C2 level in Swedish. Good knowledge French and/or English. A teaching or educational diploma or relevant training in the field of special education. Knowledge or experience in strategies for supporting pupils with special educational needs. Provide individualised support to encourage students' attention and engagement in class by implementing appropriate strategies to improve communication and understanding. Creativity in finding ways to adapt the curriculum, flexibility and a proactive attitude to problem-solving. Good communication skills and the ability to work with teachers, parents and specialists. Start date : 01/04/2025 Fixed-term contract until the end of the school year (31/08/2025) with the possibility of an extension for the following years. Place of: European School Brussels II.
