Pricing Manager Job Summary
The primary objective of the Pricing Manager is to develop and improve existing pricing strategies, tools, and methods, ensuring alignment with bpost's business strategy within regulatory frameworks.
* This role involves developing a comprehensive strategic vision for pricing and terms of products and services, creating a pricing strategy that supports bpost's business goals.
* The Pricing Manager must understand bpost's long-term business strategy and assist in developing long-term planning and budgeting exercises.
* Performing long-term simulations considering market and product developments is essential to determine the impact of price changes on various sub-domains.
* The Pricing Manager aligns the pricing structure with various products and services, defines promotional offers, identifies qualitative studies related to pricing, and introduces new pricing concepts.
* Representing the team at the Pricing Governance Board and conducting profit/loss analyses to assess the application of the pricing strategy are key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Develop Pricing Tools and Frameworks
* This involves developing tactics and guidelines related to the annual price increase cycle, conducting analyses, modeling, and simulations in collaboration with Pricing Analytics Managers/experts.
* The Pricing Manager studies the impact of price increases and continues to develop and document tools and methods.
* Representing the team at the Deal Review Board is also part of this role.
Advise Sales Managers
* The Pricing Manager advises sales managers on procedures and tactics related to pricing and terms of conditions for a series of products and services, ensuring agreements made with clients are developed in accordance with bpost's pricing strategy.
* Assisting sales managers in pricing for complex quotes and offers, analyzing files, and providing (often binding) pricing advice to sales managers in the context of product development, launch, or relaunch are key responsibilities.
* The Pricing Manager analyzes predefined pricing and variations, develops pricing agreements, proposals for price variations, and terms of conditions, and studies the impact on consistency with pricing for other bpost products and services.
* Gathering additional opinions as necessary, particularly from Legal and Marketing, is also required.
Ensure Correct Communication
* The Pricing Manager internally communicates the standard pricing structure for a series of products and services, maintains external communication regarding pricing for cross-product assistance, and acts as a product contact point for internal departments.
* Transferring knowledge and skills related to pricing, terms, and conditions to sales managers, training Sales on pricing policy and value selling, are also key responsibilities.
Stay Informed about Developments
* The Pricing Manager ensures a certain level of knowledge of markets, customers, and their regulatory framework, maintaining a certain level of knowledge of products, their sales conditions, and cost structure.
Pursue Developments and Lead Pricing Projects
* This involves formulating proposals and proactively initiating pricing initiatives with marketing and sales, managing pricing-related projects, contributing as a project collaborator to various pricing-related projects, and regularly organizing consultations with various stakeholders.
