Carrefour Belgium is looking forward to hiring an IT Domain Manager covering the landscape of Monitoring and Incident Detection to join our IT HelpDesk team. The ideal candidate will have robust experience in IT monitoring, incident detection and automation, coupled with excellent planning, execution and supervision skills to manage his domain.
This role is crucial in ensuring our applications and services run smoothly, minimizing downtime, and swiftly addressing any issues that arise. The goal we want to achieve is to be as predictive as possible in our way of operating our systems and avoiding incidents thanks to monitoring.
More specifically, the key responsibilities of the IT Domain Manager - Monitoring and Incident Detection are :
Leadership and domain management :
1. Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and professional development.
2. Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
3. Manage the budget of the monitoring domain, taking into account onboarding cost (CAPEX) as well as running cost (OPEX)
4. Supervise the level of automation and documentation given by your team
IT Monitoring :
5. Supervise the implementation and manage monitoring solutions drawing from experience from one or more of the following technologies: ELK stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, or similar tools.
6. Continuously optimize monitoring configurations to enhance visibility and alert accuracy, working closely with HelpDesk team leads to fit their needs
7. Develop dashboards and reports to provide insights into system performance and health, creating also visibility for the end users
8. Help the Incident Manager into analyzing and detecting trends which can, slowly but certainly, lead to incidents.
9. Work on identifying the areas for improvement. Implement strategies to optimize system performance and minimize downtime
Incident Detection:
10. Analyze the collected data to identify trends and new metrics which have to be monitored in order to become more predictable with our incidents
11. Work closely with the Incident Manager to help identifying trends, but also understand what is the root cause behind an issue (if applicable to monitoring)
12. Develop and execute fault detection metrics and alerts in applications
Collaboration and communication:
13. Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including application owners, developers, and IT support staff, to integrate applications with the monitoring platform.
14. Work closely with Helpdesk team leads to ensure monitoring is leveraging the efficiency in the daily operations as well as in the predictivity and understanding of the incidents
15. Provide technical guidance and support to application teams to maximize the effectiveness of monitoring solutions.
Qualifications:
16. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
17. Proven experience with one or more IT monitoring technologies (ELK stack, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, New Relic, Grafana, or similar).
18. Proven knowledge and general understanding of the IT monitoring technologies. Knowledge of ELK is a big plus.
19. Excellent leadership and team management skills.
20. Bilingual French/English or Dutch/English. The knowledge of a third language is a plus.
21. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
22. You have an eye for detail (Retail = detail)
