Hauptaufgaben
As an Educational Technician, you will perform the following duties:
- Plan, coordinate, and conduct activities for program participants based on observed needs of individual children and youth.
- Implement activities and special events that meet the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs of children and youth.
- Help prepare, arrange, and maintain indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials to accommodate daily schedules.
- Prepare and implement program options for children and youth with special requirements.
- Interact professionally with staff members, parents, and local installation command personnel. Participate in conferences with parents and staff.
- Supervise children and youth during daily schedule of indoor and outdoor activities and on field trips, outings, and special events.

AT BA 03 LEVEL:
Applicants must possess a High Secondary School degree.
AT BA 04 LEVEL:
1. EXPERIENCE
Applicants must possess a High Secondary School degree AND demonstrate at least one year of job-related experience.
Job-related experience is experience in dealing with children and infants (for example, arranging festive occasions with and for children; supervising children and youth during daily schedules of indoor and outdoor activities, on field trips, outings, and special events; arranging for and serving appropriate snacks and meals to children; assisting children and youth with special projects, homework, and life skills). The experience may have been gained in childcare centers, day nurseries, kindergartens, pediatric clinics, summer camps, youth clubs.
To be creditable, experience must have been gained at a level that is equivalent to at least the next lower grade (BA 03)
2. SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor (or equivalent) or a Master (or equivalent) successfully completed in a related field (such as "Bachelier en Soins infirmiers," "Bachelier Instituteur," "Bachelier en Sciences Psychologiques et de l'Education," "Bachelier Educateur," "Bachelier en Logopédie," "Bachelier Régent," "Bachelier Section normale pré-scolaire," "Bachelier Régent en economie sociale et familiale," "Master en Sciences Psychologiques et de l'Education," "Master en Logopédie," "Master en Sciences Psychologiques," and "Master en Sciences de l'Education.") is qualifying at the BA-04 level.
Foreign education must be officially evaluated for Belgian equivalency.

Skill in working with children and providing instruction
Ability to meet and deal effectively with people

US Army in Belgium is an American government agency whose mission is to provide logistical and administrative support to the US personnel at NATO and SHAPE in Belgium.
• DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFER
- Permanent, full-time (38 hours/week)
- Irregular work schedule (Monday through Sunday)
- Salary:
* from 2,730.96 EUR gross/month at the BA-03
* from 2,993.60 EUR gross/month at the BA-04
This is a developmental position/entry trainee level position leading to the full performance level (BA-04). At management's request, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the next grade level, provided that he/she has completed the required training and meets all regulatory and qualification requirements

The SELECTEE:
• Will provide an extract of criminal record: "Modele 2". This document may be requested to the local resident registration office.
• Will be subject to a Foreign National Screening administrated by the SHAPE Belgian Police.
• Must successfully complete and maintain background checks.
• Will pass an English test and a medical evaluation.
