Duties and Responsibilities
As part of a team spread across France, Belgium, and India you will be reporting to the VP of Customers and R&D Operations. You will be managing the PMO team (10+ people). The Project Management Office is transverse to our Product Lines and englobes the full product portfolio of Ekinops Business Lines: Access and Optical Transport.
The team is managing the R&D programs for the HW & SW development of our products. They are making sure our deliveries are in line with our Roadmap in terms of schedules, content and quality. They manage the full project scope through our Project Life Cycle (PLC) from kick-off to project pilots including, when necessary, certifications by external bodies.
The PMO is instrumental in building the annual budgets and roadmaps together with the R&D directors, Product Line Managers and Finance.
Your assignment will be to implement common best practices across the different product lines in terms of Project Management, financial follow-up, executive reporting, change management, Agile and Scrum implementation.
Furthermore, we apply the Agile methodology, and the team members are Scrum Masters for the different development teams. You will be part of the ongoing transformation and play a key role accompanying the teams in this journey.
With a solid R&D background you will interact with the senior management of the company and with the following departments:
1. Product Management
2. Finance
3. R&D SW & HW Agile development teams
4. Industrialization & Manufacturing depts
5. Customer Support Organization
You will have the following responsibilities:
1. Lead the design and set-up of the Project Management Office reinforcing the PMO as a central function in Ekinops for all project management activities (internal and customer facing as well).
2. Ongoing management and continuous improvement of the PMO, ensuring that Ekinops has the project management capabilities to deliver large and complex projects as our product portfolio evolves towards cloud-based solutions.
3. Establish/strengthen a consistent approach to oversight the performance of large-scale projects. Develop/monitor relevant KPI.
4. Implement risk management.
5. Line Manage the team of Engineering Project Managers, leading recruitment, setting objectives and ensuring their training on Agile frameworks.
6. Lead Steering Committee for the R&D organization and provide relevant and regular performance reports to the senior management.
7. Work with finance to ensure project controls are fully aligned (one source of data), support ERP evolution and migration project.
8. Provide the monthly financial project follow-up, identify deviations and provide appropriate mitigation measures. Ensure data is properly managed for CIR and funded projects follow-up.
9. Ensure the project portfolio is properly managed as per our Product Lifecycle (Gate Review process).
10. Interface with Quality department to enhance/improve our development, production and delivery processes.
11. Interface HR for the R&D Department employee follow-up (entries/exits).
12. Interface with IT to properly manage our tools portfolio for project management and their evolution (JIRA, SciForma, …).
13. Act as a leader for the Agile transformation of the R&D product lines.
14. Follow the company quality goals in accordance with international quality standards ISO 9001/ISO14001/ISO27001.
15. Work in a multi-site & multi-language environment with all R&D centers.
Profile and skills
1. Engineering degree in Telecommunications or Electronics.
2. Strong General & background knowledge of technologies used in Telecom Industry.
3. 10-15 years’ experience in the industry including SW/HW development and production.
4. 10 years’ experience in a managerial position in a mid-size large scale organization.
5. Successful experience of a PMO / PMO leadership position is a must.
6. Qualification or Certification Project Management professional (PMP) is a strong plus.
7. Strong experience of the Agile delivery cycle.
8. Effective written and verbal communication skills to all levels of the organization.
9. Strong Leadership and influencer style to drive change.
10. Excellent team spirit, willingness to work as a team with other managers, directors and to break silos.
11. Thorough understanding of the financials.
12. English and French fluent.
