As a Chief Accountant, you will be part of the Finance team at the headquarters in Waregem and report to the Financial Statements Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for the financial closing and reporting of multiple entities within the group, spread across different countries.
In addition to local GAAP, knowledge of IFRS is a strong asset due to the international context. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, auditors, and local finance teams to ensure accurate and timely reporting. Experience with ERP systems, particularly Oracle, is a key advantage.
Your key responsibilities
Financial Management & Closing
1. Manage the full accounting process from A to Z for assigned entities.
2. Ensure timely and accurate month-end, quarterly, and year-end closings.
3. Prepare and review financial reports in compliance with local GAAP and IFRS.
4. Ensure timely and accurate monthly reporting in the consolidation package for assigned entities.
5. Collaborate with other finance departments
Audit & Compliance
6. Coordinate internal and external audits and provide the necessary documentation.
7. Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations (local GAAP, IFRS).
8. Prepare and monitor tax returns and statutory reporting requirements.
9. Prepare and follow up on timely and accurate annual reporting for the works council.
10. Oversee internal controls and risk management.
Process Improvement & System Utilization
11. Identify and implement improvements in financial processes to increase efficiency and accuracy.
12. Contribute to the implementation of the finance module (Oracle) as part of the global ERP migration plan and support system optimization.
Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing
13. Maintain close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
14. Support and guide colleagues within the accounting department.
15. Continue professional development through training and participation in IFRS and ERP-related courses.
Your profile
16. Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
17. Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, or financial reporting.
18. Experience in an international business environment is a plus.
19. Knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP; consolidation experience is an asset.
20. Experience with ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
