The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for design, basic and detailed engineering of mechanical skids and other mechanical solutions, project-specific as well as support for standardization processes.
Responsibilities:
1. Designing and engineering of skids and other mechanical solutions.
2. Support PM and LE influencing the conceptual design for basic engineering (P&ID, system architecture, layout, FDS).
3. Generating conceptual design documents, including P&ID and GAD.
4. Design verification.
5. Support engineering documents, including P&ID, wiring diagrams, commissioning manuals, production procedures.
6. Prepare and/or review RFQ packages.
7. Perform technical bid evaluations.
8. Work closely with sourcing.
9. Technical interface to sub-suppliers.
10. Monitor and ensure technical compliance, quality, and on-time delivery from sub-suppliers.
11. Ensure engineered solutions meet project requirements in terms of functionality, standards, quality, and supporting documentation.
12. Provide inputs to mechanical designers and prepare/review General Arrangement Drawings based on P&IDs and FDS.
13. Prepare piping material specifications, valve material specifications, and BOM.
14. Ensure compliance with regulations, codes, specifications, and pipe classes.
15. Quality control of piping work executed by sub-contractors.
16. Support/execute commissioning and start-up.
17. Adhere to safe work practices and company policies.
18. Collaborate with Quality & Project manager on engineering deliverables.
19. Support standardization of products and solutions.
Attributes and Skills & Qualifications:
1. BS or BA degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2. Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D.
3. Proven experience in designing skid-based units for natural gas or liquid.
4. Knowledge of mechanical and piping design codes and standards (ASME, EN, PED).
5. Conversant with UK Gas Network specifications and applicable UK codes and standards.
6. Experienced with UK Design approval process G17/PS6.
7. Ability to analyze complex problems and arrive at sound solutions.
8. Strong written and oral communication skills; fluent in Dutch and English (French and German appreciated).
