BOSS Energy Consulting LTD – Europe Director
BOSS Energy has been engaged by a leading American strategic advisory firm focused on climate change, clean energy, and sustainability seeking to make their first European hire. The Europe Director’s time will be dedicated to working with one of the company’s major clients, a global Coalition for companies, institutions, and governments committed to scaling up renewable heating and cooling at their facilities, dramatically cutting carbon emissions.
Responsibilities
* Work closely with our client’s Senior Vice President, who serves as the Coalition’s Executive Director, to accelerate the work across renewable thermal technologies, market development, and policy in the European market.
* You will be working on a broad suite of projects that includes: market acceleration plans for renewable natural gas, solar thermal, electrification, green hydrogen, thermal storage, and biomass; federal and state policies to support renewable thermal deployment; greenhouse gas accounting and claims; peer-to-peer collaboration forums and projects; regular webinars, reports, and stakeholder communications.
* The Europe Director will be part of the team working to expand large industrial energy users’ and technology/service providers’ participation in the Coalition, and to develop and execute technology- and markets-related work products.
* Specific activities may include directing projects on renewable thermal technologies, policies, or market mechanisms in Europe; convening Europe-based members and solutions providers for experience sharing and network building
* Providing European policy expertise to Coalition members, solutions providers, and staff;
* Coordinating and collaborating with Europe-based alliances and coalitions engaging in this work
* Maintaining regular communications with active Coalition members and solutions providers; working with the Membership Director to identify and recruit new Europe-based members and solutions providers.
Key Competencies
* Passionate about improving our climate, sustainability, and increasing the use of renewable energy.
* At least 8 years of relevant professional work experience, with demonstrated project management/coalition engagement/policy experience on climate change, renewable energy, industrial decarbonization, and/or sustainability issues and projects.
* Experience growing coalitions, engaging partners, and facilitating coalition projects.
* An understanding of climate and renewable energy policy and industry, with a network of those involved in these issues.
* Experience working with industrial energy users is a plus.
* Experience and understanding of change management.
* Excellent writing skills.
* Excellent project management and budgeting skills, including strong organizational skills.
* Self-motivated and comfortable working independently.
* Organized and detail oriented, with strong experience managing complex project workflows and timelines and consistently meeting deadlines.
* Strong communicator with experience in synthesizing and summarizing complex information.
* Strong interpersonal skills.
