About the Department: The EMEA Development Control department, part of Daikin's EMEA Development Centre, plays a pivotal role in supporting our development teams. Main responsibilities encompass project and resource planning and follow-up, as well as the set-up and enhancement of internal processes and systems within the R&D organization.
Job Location: Primarily based in Gent, with a required visit once per week to our Brussels office. Starting from 2024, the role will transition to the new R&D center in Ghent, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
About the position: As a Junior Budget Planner, you will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to coordinate, monitor, and optimize budget-related activities across EMEA Development Centre (EDC). Your role will involve keeping management informed about cost evolution, proposing necessary actions to align with targets, and fostering a culture of cost awareness and transparency within the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of the EDC Resource Plan, encompassing expenses, investments, and workforce requirements.
2. Management of entire EDC budget cycle: tracking, controlling and reporting of result vs. budget, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial targets.
3. Standardize and enhance processes related to budget planning, control, and reporting across various development bases in Europe.
4. Advocate for cost responsibility, correctness, and transparency throughout the organization.
5. Enhance cost planning & monitoring as one of the main pillars of an effective project management.
Candidate Profile:
6. Master’s degree, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Commercial Engineering.
7. Prior experience in a similar role, demonstrating strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
8. Critical mindset, constantly seeking opportunities for process improvement.
9. Effective communicator and enthusiastic team player, comfortable in a multicultural environment.
10. Advanced Excel user, knowledge of Power BI and SAP environment will be considered as a plus.
11. Proficient in English.
