QbD Austria, part of the international QbD group, is a young and growing consulting company offering services and training on regulatory affairs, regulatory compliance, business organization and quality assurance in the pharmaceutical, food supplement and medical device industry. What do we expect from you as Business Development Manager?
3. You develop, implement and lead the strategic direction for the consulting business unit and drive sales strategies to meet and expand the business worldwide.
4. You identify and evaluate potential new business opportunities to sell the company’s products and services to customers to facilitate our customer’s goals.
5. You initiate and develop productive customer relationships in multiple functions ( R&D, MS&T, production, procurement, quality, regulatory affairs) and you create a network of contacts (scientist, project manager, manager and executive levels) to ensure comprehensive customer engagement.
6. You actively participate in, and may lead, cross-functional teams to close customer opportunities that include adept coordination of legal, manufacturing, marketing, R&D, etc.
7. You collaborate with business unit partners to develop business/partnership frameworks for large, complex, often multi-year mutually beneficial partnerships with customers.
8. You make highly informed judgments of value to the customer upon which to develop financial terms for often customized products
9. You negotiate and close business terms and conditions .
10. You understand and act in accordance to applicable licenses and intellectual property, as well as monitor and manage contracts and relationships with customers.
11. You identify customer needs, respond to inquiries, and resolve problems in a timely manner.
12. You investigate product issues and ensures satisfactory resolution of customer complaints.
13. Travel expectations at 20% both regionally and globally.
Who are we looking for?
14. You hold a bachelor’s degree in any life science or business subject. Advanced degree and/or MBA preferred.
15. You have proven experience (7+ years) in strategic account partnering or Business Development in IVD or Pharma/biotech industrial fields. Experience in M&A is a plus.
16. You have experience drafting and negotiating licensing term sheets, contract negotiation and other agreements (CDA, MTA, co-development, etc.).
17. You are able to understand and use financial models to make recommendations or decisions on commercial terms and negotiations.
18. You have excellent communications and organizational skills .
19. You are proficient in English and German. Other languages are a plus.
20. You are willing to travel (20%) both regionally and globally.
