Responsibilities
This paid internship mirrors our full-time analyst role. Interns work closely with senior staff on projects across a variety of industries, and will give Interns a greater understanding of what it is like to work as an economist at CRA. The internship duration is usually three to six months (flexible) with flexible start dates throughout the year. A typical Intern may:
1. Identify potential issues and conduct analyses that can be used to illustrate economic arguments;
2. Assemble compelling evidence from data and research that support our expert opinions and business recommendations;
3. Program, build models and/or perform regression analyses in statistical analysis programs (such as Stata, Python, R), including large data projects requiring use of cloud computing;
4. Assist in the development and presentation of client deliverables, including expert reports and white papers summarising opinions, conclusions, and recommendations using financial, market, industry or client-proprietary data;
5. Communicate complicated economic concepts and arguments to internal teams in an understandable, accessible manner;
6. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of analyses and opinions.
Desired Qualifications
7. Master's or PhD/DPhil candidates studying economics with a strong foundation in microeconomics, preferably with a specialisation in industrial economics and/or econometrics;
8. Fluency in English and Dutch; additional fluency in French and/or German desirable;
9. High degree of numeracy and the ability to manipulate data are essential;
10. Some research experience;
11. Effective oral and written communication skills;
12. Demonstrated high level of initiative and leadership;
13. Strong teamwork and collaboration capabilities;
14. Excellent time management and task prioritisation skills; and
15. Clear and demonstrated interest in consulting through coursework, work experience, or activities.
