The Opportunity
Elsyca is seeking a new CAE Project Engineer to strengthen our engineering capacity at our headquarters office in Belgium. The selected candidate will have dedicated training to deepen his/her knowledge in Elsyca fields of activity and will be exposed to a variety of application domains as well as cooperating with our software development team and product development team, providing feedback on our internally developed software. Proximity to different departments can open different career paths, even beyond engineering, depending on personal preference, company needs and demonstrated capabilities and potential.
The Role
Elsyca is active in several engineering domains, supporting our customers with software products and modelling studies to optimize and validate designs in a range of applications, such as:
•Anti-corrosion systems in offshore structures such as oil and gas platforms to wind turbines,
•Cathodic protection of buried structures and pipeline networks,
•AC interference of power lines in buried pipelines,
•Electrophoretic paint studies of new vehicles,
•Electroplating copper process for electronics,
•Electroplating of different metallic coatings for functional applications, such as aerospace components,
•Electroplating of decorative metallic coatings, such as chrome automotive trim or precious metals in the jewelry market,
•And several other exotic electrochemical applications.
In collaboration with the team, the role is to deliver state-of-the-art electrochemical solutions to customers, ensuring a successful manufacturability of their product or successful operation of their system.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be part of the engineering team. The job tasks will include:
•Creating 3D computational models for CAE simulations from customer input data.
•Executing computer simulation with Elsyca’s own software and/or 3rd party software tools.
•Communicating and collaborating as team member in the engineering team.
•Interacting with other Elsyca departments/teams to provide engineering support to their activities.
•Providing technical support to Elsyca’s software customers via our customer support channel.
•Providing training to Elsyca’s software customers (either remotely or onsite).
About you
Ideally, you will:
•Be a BS or MS graduate in Engineering, Chemistry or related engineering or science disciplines.
•Have strong affinity to work with computer software (in general).
•Have excellent problem-solving skills.
•Be fluent in English (spoken and written).
•Have good communications skills.
•Be a fast learner and eager to learn new skills.
•Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
•Be able to work with tight deadlines.
•Demonstrate good attention to detail.
•Be willing to travel.
Preferably you will show additionally:
•Experience with CAD systems, such as SolidWorks©.
•Experience in FEM modelling (understanding of computational principles: boundary conditions, meshing, solvers, postprocessing).
•Understanding of electrical systems.
•Electrochemical knowledge of electrodeposition, cathodic protection and corrosion.
•Knowledge of additional business-relevant languages.
