We are currently seeking a Head of Liability, Financial Lines & Cyber to join our dynamic team. As the Head of Liability, Financial Lines & Cyber for Zurich Insurance Benelux, you will have the opportunity to lead a team of experienced managers and market-facing underwriters. Your expertise will be pivotal in expanding our International and Domestic book of business, aligning with our strategic objectives. To excel in this role, strong leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of local insurance products and markets are paramount.
This is a fulltime hybrid role where you will be working from our office in The Hague, Netherlands, or Zaventem, Belgium; and report to the Chief Underwriting Officer, Zurich Insurance Europe.

Your responsibilities include:
1. Demonstrate specialized knowledge and expertise in insurance products and the industry.
2. Monitor underwriting rules, guidelines, insurance laws and regulations, and rating manual rules.
3. Recommend and implement action plans based on agency books of business, profit/growth results, and trends.
4. Manage relationships with internal stakeholders to identify service improvement opportunities for commercial viability and customer satisfaction.
5. Develop and maintain relationships with distributors (agents and brokers) to retain and acquire business and determine insurance-related needs of customers and distributors.
6. Establish key performance targets and financial budgets to optimize business performance.
7. Review complex analysis conducted by others and provide technical/professional recommendations to improve business performance in the medium and longer term.
8. Participate in leadership team meetings to provide guidance and enable implementation of policy, projects, and change initiatives.
9. Participate in a community of global/regional proposition development practitioners to share best practices and meet customer needs.
10. Oversee development plans for underwriters to drive business results within your area of responsibility.
What we are looking for:
11. Bachelor or master degree and 10 or more years of experience in commercial insurance
12. Strong leadership skills and extensive experience as a manager
13. Advanced and in-depth knowledge of insurance products and lines of business.
14. Skilled in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiating.
15. Strong presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation
16. Fluent in both Dutch and English (French is a advantageous)
17. Willingness to travel between our offices in the Hague, Netherlands and Zaventem, Belgium is required
