The Opportunity
In order to strengthen our Actuarial team, we are looking for a non-life insurance actuary with experience in pricing and/or product development and/or non-life reserving.
Indeed, evolving customer demands, new technologies and new service models are more than ever pushing traditional financial services providers into uncharted territory, redefining the entire industry. As actuarial consultants we help our clients in the insurance sector to navigate this fast changing world.
Some examples of domains in which you will support our clients include the following;
Related to pricing:
1. Support our product innovation teams by quantifying the impact the changes in offered covers, targeting new segments etc.
2. Implement pricing optimization via traditional or non-traditional actuarial techniques ( usage of open data, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques)
3. Conduct profitability studies and support during portfolio rationalization exercises (pruning)
Related to reserving:
4. Support internal actuaries by optimizing internal processes, calibrating the best estimate, supporting finance & risk management with its calculations and methodology etc.
5. Challenge the Best-Estimate determined by internal actuaries by computing an independent Best-Estimate
Skills and Attributes for Success
6. You have a master in Actuarial Sciences, preferable complemented with 2-8 years of relevant working experience in one of these fields (we are looking for profiles with various levels of experience)
7. You have a technical background and see the value in data and spot insights where others see numbers
8. You have strong skills in relevant programming languages ( R, Python, SAS, …)
9. You have a critical and analytical mindset and people skills are one of your greatest assets
10. You are fluent in proficient business English and fluent in Dutch/French
