This position will advise the business and senior leadership on strategic matters, be responsible for competition-related enforcement and regulatory matters across Europe, and help shape the company’s long-term strategy on highly relevant and novel issues.
Key job responsibilities
•Drive competition and related regulatory matters across the EU and member states – including Germany – while partnering with local legal teams.
•Advise the business and legal colleagues on competition-related matters across all Amazon businesses in Europe.
•Help shape the company’s long term strategy on high impact and often novel issues.
•Think Big and look around corners to spot issues and identify developments of relevance for the Amazon business.
•Partner with our public policy team and engage with regulators and policy makers on a broad range of issues.
•Contribute as a member of the EU Competition team to develop mechanisms for training, compliance, and cross-functional coordination.
The role location is Munich, Brussels, Berlin or Luxembourg. Some travel will be required.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
•Fully qualified lawyer with outstanding academic and legal qualifications
•5+ years of experience in competition law
•Experience in managing competition-related regulatory and enforcement matters at EU level and member states, with demonstrated experience in Germany.
•Experience managing a large number and variety of mission-critical projects and meeting deadlines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Written and verbal communication skills in German
•Sound and practical business judgment as well as common sense
•Ability to work independently in ambiguous situations while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams
•A team player and consensus builder with great people skills and a good sense of humor who can effectively and efficiently collaborate and build relationships with attorneys and business clients at all levels throughout the organization
•Highest standards of ethics and professional integrity
