Location: Dessel Plant
As a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Cluster Manager for the cluster Dessel which consists of 7 sites, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and managing activities within the global HSE program for your assigned cluster. You will support Sibelco in complying with local regulations and Sibelco HS Standards to ensure every employee, contractor, and visitor can work in a safe and healthy work environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Conduct site visits, field observations, and process confirmations to verify safety compliance.
2. Follow up safety practices, attend shift/handover/daily operations meetings, and provide ongoing safety support.
3. Collaborate with the Central Europe Regional HS manager and HS Global Competence Center to align local programs with the global Sibelco H&S strategy, program, standards, and tools.
4. Develop and implement site-specific emergency response plans for your cluster’s sites.
5. Advise and perform risk assessments on local projects with potential impacts on H&S, working closely with operators, supervisors, and local operational leadership.
6. Monitor and ensure compliance with local legal requirements, report gaps, and assist in the development and execution of action plans in collaboration with local stakeholders.
7. Oversee the successful rollout of H&S training programs in your area of responsibility.
8. Ensure accurate data collection and timely reporting of H&S performance metrics (KPIs) and Environmental Emissions data for your assigned area. The “E” part is limited to Emission data management.
9. Stakeholder management including coaching and influencing leadership positions in Operations.
10. Change Management: able to navigate in a work environment where change is a constant.
What Do You Need to Succeed?
1. Minimum a certificate as “Preventie-Adviseur niveau II”.
2. Knowledge of Industrial Hygiene and the Machine Directive.
3. Prior relevant experience in Health & Safety management, preferably in an industrial or operational setting.
4. Proficiency in English and Dutch, both verbal and written.
5. Mid-level proficiency in French is a plus as we have 2 sites in Wallonia.
6. Travel regularly to ensure presence in each of the 7 sites (Dessel, Lommel, Maasmechelen, Quai 287 and High 5 in Antwerp harbour and Lodelinsart) at least 1 every 2 weeks. Your office location will be in Dessel in the Technical building on-site next to the Operational leaders.
