Donaldson offers a broad portfolio of ePTFE membrane products for industrial and technical applications.

The Application Engineer will be responsible for the development and qualification of Advanced Membrane Solutions products, with a strong focus on strategic markets defined by Business Unit Leadership. The role covers a wide range of applications, including filtration and venting solutions for medical devices and automotive applications.

Responsibilities:

1. Act as an engineering project lead ensuring projects are executed in due time with the expected performance and cost.

2. Understand application requirements and implement product solutions for venting applications.

3. Own and coordinate the development, testing and validation of product designs to meet market and customer needs.

4. Support the sales team to provide technical support and ensure success of business unit opportunities.

5. Meet all customer deadlines and requirements while following a stage gated product launch process and respecting company operating policies.

6. Communicate, present, and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, internally and externally.

7. Collaborate with engineering and business team to propagate knowledge, voice of customer, and develop innovative solutions for our team and customers.

8. Support customer regarding products that are in serial production phase as well.

9. Understand market trends (customer unmet needs, new applications, competitions...)

Minimum Qualifications:

10. Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Materials, or Chemical Engineering.

11. At least 2–4 years of relevant professional experience.

12. Experience in planning, writing, and executing product validation activities.

13. Background in engineering, process development, or manufacturing environments.

14. Solid understanding of product design for high-volume production and assembly process constraints.

15. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical mindset.

16. Proven ability to communicate effectively with both internal stakeholders and external partners.

17. English: fluent.

Preferred Qualifications:

18. Proficiency in Dutch, French, or German is considered a strong asset.

19. Familiarity with regulatory and validation requirements.

20. Initial exposure to the automotive market and experience with related quality tools and standards.

21. Experience working in cleanroom and other regulated manufacturing environments.

22. Hands-on experience with plastics/polymer molding, bonding, and assembly processes.

23. Background in filtration products or single-use plastic components.

24. Experience with medical device or bioprocessing system components.

25. Proven project management experience.

Travel: up to 10% of the time
