We are looking for a STEM Inspiration Activities Work Package Manager to complete our consultants Workforce Management Service to support the European Space Agency (ESA) at their Galaxia Education Centre in Libin, Belgium.Please be aware that this is a temporary position. The duration can be discussed at interview stage.
Please note, the successful candidate will be employed by ATG Europe (or one of its subsidiaries). Furthermore, upon selection, they will be subject to a general security screening performed by an external provider (further information will be provided at the interview stage).
The successful candidate will be tasked with, but not limited to:
1. Support the set-up, planning, design, organization, logistics, coordination and execution of the ESA STEM inspirational and informal education activities - on-line and off-line - either organized by ESA or by/with other external partners (ESEROs included, as applicable);
2. Space events and/or camps, hackathons, exhibitions, conferences, fairs, etc. including support to the organization and execution of national events (such as ESEROs);
3. Inspiration activities involving ESA astronauts (e.g. In Flight Calls, etc);
4. Activities involving career awareness, role modelling, access to ESA experts;
5. Any other relevant implementation model for inspirational activities and initiatives as deemed appropriate by ESA;
6. For all the above activities, contribute to the content definition and set-up and of relevant supporting tools and materials, such as: online tools (e.g. dedicated internet, intranet or social media sections), audiovisual products (e.g. videos, webinars, etc), promotional and exhibition materials, in close coordination with the Service(s) assigned to these Tasks;
7. For the above activities, wherever applicable, continuously pursue coordination, optimization and synergy with The Learn with Space (formal/non-formal education) activities of the ESA Education Office, the ESA Academy Unit, concerning the Academy Engagement activities in particular, the ESA Human Resources and ESA Communication departments, the ESA programme directorates such as Science, Earth Observation, Human & Robotics Exploration, space agencies, international boards, organizations, stakeholders, networks, projects and providers in ESA Member and Associate States and beyond the European level.

1. Master’s degree (or an equivalent qualification) in an engineering or scientific (STEM) domain, with experience and/or proven interest in non-formal/informal STEM;
2. At least 5 years experience in an engineering or scientific (STEM) domain;
3. Experience in the management of international education and/or science communication projects and events for young people (3-18 y/o range), including procurement/contractual aspects, as well as application of Data Protection and project evaluation aspects;
4. Sound knowledge and understanding of the current status, needs, priorities and trends in science communication, as well as STEM non-formal and informal education;
5. Creativity and ability to generate innovative and original ideas;
6. Sound knowledge/understanding of ESA and the space domain;
7. Due to the nature and location of the role, candidates must be in possession of a valid driver’s license;
8. Candidates must be eligible to work in the EU;
9. Fluency in English, both written and spoken;
10. Knowledge of French is an asset.
