What will you be doing?
What will your work day look like?
As a Junior Tax Consultant, you arrive at the office—where you’ll spend most of your time—, check your inbox and draw up a schedule for the day. First, you finish up a file for your manager, carefully checking it for errors and missing information. While you’re working on this, you await a call from the Accountancy team asking you to check a preliminary version of the quarterly tax review. You enjoy diving into the numbers and will check every detail if necessary. Basically, you spend your time checking that various items are actually correct. Are the expenditures in order? Have the correct tax procedures been followed? The day flies by, and before you know it it’s time to go home. Before leaving, you make a quick to-do list for the next day. Just a scribble:
1. Prepare advice on tax questions!
2. Review Client X tax return!
What do you bring to the table?
3. “Flexibility” is definitely a trait of yours, according to both yourself and others. Juggling multiple deadlines or dealing with several different files on the same day? A piece of cake for you.
4. You are happy to take the initiative and present new ideas, but also receptive to your colleagues’ point of view. Team spirit is a given.
5. Stress? What’s that? You are good at planning and handle deadlines well. Delivering work on time is not a problem for you.
6. You insist on accuracy and love diving into all the details. You check everything thoroughly, number by number.
7. You always stay up to date on the latest legislative developments. You enjoy learning new things and attending tax seminars, conferences and events.
8. You have a Master’s degree, supplemented by additional training in taxation
9. Fluent in spoken Dutch, French and English.
