Transport Study Engineer - 12 months - Brussels
Job purpose
You will be responsible for specific research into the development of local networks, including the calculation of transmission capacity and network design aspects (pipe properties, pressure reduction capacity, closure nodes, etc.). You will also work with other departments to develop bids for specific customers or producers, or during the design phase of a network reinforcement project, when the technical requirements are defined.
Job description
* You will check ‘Technical Intervention Requests’ concerning an increased need for gas supply capacity or necessary interventions on the network and make recommendations for the optimum technical solution;
* You will liaise with other departments (Sales, Projects, Engineering, HSEQ, etc.) to understand the needs of the national market and translate them into workable technical solutions;
* You carry out specific research into capacity calculations to optimise the transmission capacity of the natural gas network;
* You assess whether the various elements of the local transmission network are suited to requirements;
* You prepare presentations on specific research and report on proposed technical solutions to the relevant committee;
* You will contribute to the development and maintenance of the network simulation software.
Your profile
* To be successful in this role, you will have:
* A master's degree in engineering ;
* 3 to 5 years' relevant professional experience;
* Excellent analytical skills and a liking for working with numbers;
* Willingness to learn to use hydraulic simulation software (no prior knowledge required);
* The ability to provide a layman's overview of a complex analysis;
* A team player and the ability to work effectively with other departments on multidisciplinary projects;
* Excellent communication skills;
* A proactive attitude, assertiveness and pragmatism;
* A good knowledge of Dutch and French, and to a lesser extent English.
