About the role
We are currently looking for an ambitious & enthusiastic Country Warehouse & Logistics Manager to join our team based in Ternat, Belgium.
The role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring logistics operations such as warehousing, inventory and transportation. It also supervises a team of warehouse staff and 3rd party logistics specialists.
Main responsibilities
In this role you'll:
* Create and implement best practice warehouse management and logistics principles and processes
* Monitor quality, quantity, delivery times, and transport costs
* Ensure all completed orders are dispatched on time
* Select, qualify and negotiate contracts and rates with carriers together with our procurement manager
* Monitor warehouse and carrier service against performance criteria
* Plan and monitor inbound and outgoing deliveries.
* Supervise logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services.
* Organize warehouse, label goods, plot routes, and process shipments.
* Respond to any issues or complaints.
* Identify inefficiencies, create a log of CI and cost optimisation opportunities and prioritise them
* Lead daily KPI review meetings, report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required
* Manage, coach and develop a high performing team that meets agreed objectives and delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements
* Ensure that all functions under supervision operate in accordance with health, safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with all connected with the logistics process
Experience & qualifications
To be successful in this role you'll need:
* A Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration, logistics, supply chain, or relevant field
* Previous experience of working in logistics/supply chain/transportation function with a comprehensive knowledge of logistics processes and procedures.
* IT systems knowledge and skills including knowledge and understanding of specialist systems such as ERP (ideally SAP)
* The ability to analyse and manipulate data and provide meaningful information
* A good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and experience with ERP/MRP systems
* Developed management skills and experience in managing human resources, projects, spending targets (including expense and capital) and strategic planning.
* Excellent problem solving, communication, team-building and interpersonal skills.
* Experience in the steel/metalworking industry (welding, forming, bending, cutting) is preferred.
* To be trilingual in Dutch, French and Englsh
