MEDICAL ASSET LEAD
Position purpose:
Provides strategic medical direction, advice and oversight in the Asset Strategy Team in close collaboration with the other members of this cross functional team, in order to maximize the potential of the Asset .
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
Provide continuous strategic medical insight and planning for the asset during all stages of development, including (but not limited to):
1. medical aspects of the TPP
2. overall development plan
3. choice of preferred indications
4. labelling potential
5. evaluate emerging data for efficacy and safety profile (also in comparison to competitors).
Line management of the medical doctors working on the asset: coach and set example for their roles ensuring high quality medical support for the clinical and study teams, identify high performers for potential other roles. Maximize external client satisfaction by providing quality development partners in collaborating with leading academic medical centers, actively contributing to making argenx their partner of choice.
Maximize internal client satisfaction through close collaboration with senior management as well as functional heads; analyze and anticipate their needs while maintaining medical integrity at all levels.
Maintain close cross functional and peer collaboration on procedures/policies and training requirements in order to harmonize and gain efficiency across the organization; provide quality medical development partners.
Help build and maintain a “best in class” group of development medical doctors.
Desired Skills and Experience:
6. Medical Doctor; relevant specialty education preferred (hematologist, neurologist, dermatologist, immunologist, internal medicine), having acquired in-depth understanding of global drug development, registration and commercialization process based on relevant experience of at least 7 years in the pharma/biotech industry.
7. Excellent English, both written and spoken is a must, as well as ability to travel.
8. Proven leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills in a global and intercultural environment, including leading through influence (without having direct reporting lines).
9. Pro-active problem solver with negotiation skills.
10. Must provide clear vision, direction, and purpose for the different development teams, remaining sensitive to the different cultural needs in a global organization.
11. Strong communication skills to ensure that project plans and status are transparent, and that risks, issues, and results are clear to all involved parties. A matrix structure requires additional skills in gathering decision information, negotiation and communicating decisions and action,
12. Executes his/her responsibilities with knowledge, accuracy, persistence, resilience and creativity, being an accomplished team player whilst maintaining medical integrity
