Electrical Design Engineer with power electronics expertise (HVDC/FACTS)
As an experienced T&D Expert, you will contribute to the development of our power system activities. The power systems product focuses on supporting our clients in their challenges to plan and operate the power system in a reliable, sustainable and efficient way. Our clients include TSOs, regulatory bodies, power producers, industries and project developers around the world.
This team has a world class expertise in Power Systems and is the center of excellence of the ENGIE Group for all related topics.
Description
1. Autonomously performing the assigned project tasks in the area of expertise.
2. Preparation of bid proposals, and participation in business development activities.
3. Building and maintaining strong client and industry relationships.
4. Keeping up to date with state-of-the-art technology developments through participation in research projects and/or relevant industry working groups (IEEE, CIGRE, etc.)
5. Keeping track of the supply market and main industry players.
6. Coordination with the power system consulting and other teams in the group to address complex projects during all stages from feasibility to commissioning.
Requirements
7. University degree in electrical engineering (MSc/Dipl.-Ing.), further education is an asset
8. Fluent in English, excellent correspondence skill in contractual & technical matters. Fluency in other languages is an asset (German, French)
9. Readiness for frequent travel abroad
10. Excellent presentation skills
11. Team performer, liaison and close coordination with the clients and partners
12. Excellent computer literacy (MS-office tools)
13. Preferably previous work experience as consultant and experience working abroad
14. Preferably 10 years of practical experience in high voltage power transmission projects in the area of power electronics, preferably on HVDC and FACTS, but BESS or RES experience will be also considered.
15. Knowledge of relevant standards and codes.
16. Knowledge of system design including ability to manage interfaces with relevant equipment, such as valves, reactors, transformers, control and protection, telecommunication, cables or overhead lines, HV switchyard, firefighting, etc.
17. Experience in preparing technical specifications and tender documents for power electronics-based devices, evaluating bids, and performing design reviews.
18. Experience with following type acceptance tests (TAT), factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT).
19. Experience in the commissioning of equipment.
20. Ability to contribute in all project phases (planning studies, design, procurement, implementation, supervision and commissioning) with technical input within the area of technical expertise.
