What your future may hold
As Legal Counsel you provide legal services to Komatsu’s businesses and operations under the final supervision of theGM Legal. You understand, evaluate and timely, clearly and effectively communicate the legal risks and opportunities associated with commercial transactions, business operations and projects while at the same time understanding the business requirements and needs.
1. You provide legal support to Komatsu’s Affiliates in Europe & Africa;
2. You provide legal support to all Komatsu Business Units (ex. After-sales, logistics, Komatsu finance,…);
3. Support in the overall legal compliance management of the Group’s activities (GDPR, competition law, Human Rights, ESG, …);
4. You provide training on relevant legislation and procedures;
5. Monitoring, interpreting and advising on current and new relevant legislation and case law with impact on Komatsu’s business;
6. You evaluate the necessity to seek legal advice from external counsel; select, monitor, manage and ensure effective advice by such external counsel.
Your skillset
7. You have a degree from an accredited Belgian law school, extra post graduate diploma’s in legal topics are an asset;
8. Knowledge of general commercial law (B2B), product safety law, competition law and data (protection law);
9. Keen interest in export control matters and general compliance matters;
10. You are a team player, self-confident and give clear and concise communication (ex. Translate legal language into business language);
11. You are hands-on, able to work independently and to prioritize the key projects;
12. Fluent in Dutch and English;
13. You have a minimum of 5 years’s experience with a focus on general corporate & commercial matters, with an international scope.
