POSITIONSUMMARY:
Under the direction ofthe Head Concierge and the Assistant Head Concierge, the Porterstands as a pivotal figure in the delivery of our unparalleledcustomer service experience. Serving as both a guide and anambassador, they are the very first to craft that all-importantsense of welcome for our guests. The Porter assists in achievinggoals and targets set, whilst maintaining and building on thereputation of the Hotel.
DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Keeping abreast of newesttrends and innovations in the hospitality industry.
· Generallybeing alert for opportunities to improve the profitability of thedepartment i.e. through controlling wastage and being responsiblefor the economy of all utilitiesand resources.
· Taking a proactive approach tothe team activities, anticipating potentialopportunities.
· Maintaining effectivecommunication within the department and ensure that the HeadConcierge and Assistant Head Concierge are kept well informed ofany problems/queries that havearisen.
· Reportsany problems/complaints to the Head Concierge and Assistant HeadConcierge.
· Safeguardingthe journey of every luggage by ensuring the management of guestluggage (arrival/departure and storage) is recorded with theappropriate labelling & ensuring all luggage items aredelivered to the correct rooms in a timelymanner.
· Orchestratingseamless collaboration with every department, ensuring theharmonious flow of luggagelogistics.
· Enlighteningguests with insights into our hotel's offerings and localattractions, enriching their stay with bespokerecommendations.
· Extendinga helping hand to guests with the loading and unloading of theirbelongings from their vehicles, while upholding stringent safetyprotocols.
· Anticipatingand fulfilling every guest need, treating each request with theutmost care andattention,
· Ensuresthe Bell Desk, Lobby & Luggage Room are always kept neat andtidy.
· Greetingevery guest with genuine warmth and hospitality, embodying theessence of courteousness andamiability.
· Providingattentive care to guests with special requirements, intuitivelyanticipating theirneeds,
· Upholdingthe esteemed standards of CORINTHIA quality with unwaveringdedication andprecision.
· Isfully conversant with the Corinthia EmployeeHandbook.
· Maintains the security of thehotel, safety of staff and guests and safe cash handlingpractices
· Drivesthe Corinthia values and philosophy.
· Understands and be fullyconversant with the weekly rota, passing on leads to ensure itreflects the latest business needs and fluctuations (last minutepick-up, groups,etc.)
· Isaware that working night shift hours is a requirement, to assist inthe efficient and effective 24 hour operation of theDepartment.
· Understandsand be fully conversant with the agreed systems, standards ofperformance and jobdescription.
· Observesall safe handling and OH&S requirements with regards tocarrying and loadingluggage.
· Ensuresthe Bell Desk and Luggage Room are always kept neat andtidy.
· Assistsin valet parking guest cars as and when required.
· Informs theHead Concierge and Assistant Head Concierge of all operationalincidents that may affect the business or have an impact on guestservices, and assist in appropriate follow up to allincidents.

· Whist working for the Companythere will be access to a wide variety of confidential informationconcerning the Company, guests andemployees.
· It is vital that all suchinformation remains confidential and must not be disclosed toanyone outside the Company, guests and employees, unless otherwisestated. Please refer to the Employee Handbook for full policydetails.
HEALTH &SAFETY
· To be aware of and comply withsafe working practices as stipulated by the Health and Safety Actand as applicable to your place of work. This will include theincumbent’s awareness of any specific hazards at the workplace.
· Thewearing of appropriate protective clothing provided by orrecommended by the Company will be obligatory.
· To report any defects in thebuilding, plant or equipment according to hotelprocedure.
· To ensure that any accidentsto staff, guests or visitors are reported immediately in accordancewith correct procedures.
