Daikin Europe NV (DENV) is a subsidiary of Daikin Industries Limited, a Japanese outstanding company and worldwide the biggest developer, producer and supplier of HVAC-R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration) solutions, including heating pumps and cooling technology.
DENV is Daikin’s sales, R&D, and production headquarters for Europe, the Middle-East and Africa. The headquarter has Belgian offices in Brussels, Ghent and Ostend, as well as 8 production plants, 24 sales subsidiaries and offices and a whole network of independent distributors and dealers across the EMEA region.
Position Overview:
As a Tax Advisor at the Headquarters of the Daikin group in EMEA, you will become part of a professional and driven tax team within a multinational entity. The central tax team coordinates all tax operations for the group, together with the local accounting teams and our shared service center in Poland. With 70+ affiliates mainly in EMEA, we are looking to enforce our central tax team with a motivated person who is eager to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Review VAT returns and filings incl analysis of new sales flows, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local and international tax laws.
2. Assist in tax audits and investigations, preparing necessary documentation and responses.
3. You will contribute to projects and provide tax assistance to the business
4. Collaborate with regional finance teams to ensure compliance with local tax laws and regulations in each jurisdiction where we operate.
5. Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax legislation, assessing the potential impact on our business operations and tax strategies.
6. You will become our SAP key user for tax and depending on your interest and capabilities, you will further develop our tax digital solutions. SAP-knowledge will be trained on the job.
7. You will be part of the tax team in Daikin Europe which covers VAT, Corporate Income Tax and Transfer pricing as business cases are generally not limited to one area of tax. You will be trained in all area’s.
Qualifications:
8. A Master’s degree in economics, economic sciences, law and/or taxation.
9. At least 2 years of experience in tax within a bigger or smaller tax advisory firm or a multinational company.
10. Basic knowledge of tax laws and regulations and eagerness to learn more about tax.
11. Understanding of ERP systems is a plus, especially SAP.
12. Data doesn’t scare you, development skills and knowledge of Alteryx are a big plus.
13. You’re highly analytical and problem solving and strive for excellence.
14. You can work independently within strict deadlines with a hands-on mentality and you are comfortable in balancing multiple projects at the same time.
15. You have attention to detail and take ownership in your job.
16. You have excellent oral and written English skills.
