Standard IT Support Specialist
We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team in Brussels.
In this role, you will be responsible for first- and second-line support, incident management, and problem analysis, ensuring excellent service delivery and a high rate of first-call resolution.
The position involves both remote and on-site support, with a significant focus on customer satisfaction and operational best practices.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the main point of contact for IT issues, providing first- and second-line support.
* Record, track, and manage incidents and requests; analyze escalated problems to find root causes.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues (hardware, software, network, etc.) in a timely manner.
* Reconfigure or install PC environments (Windows OS, applications).
* Perform testing and administration of applications to ensure optimal functionality.
* Document operational support procedures, contributing to the knowledge base.
* Draft technical documentation to capture troubleshooting steps, best practices, and solutions.
* Coordinate with system administration and database teams to address higher-level tasks.
* Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., MEP IT Support) and fill in for other support roles as needed.
* Maintain a proactive mindset to identify and implement improvements in processes and tools.
* Uphold ITIL standards and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Proven experience supporting and troubleshooting Windows-based systems.
* Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
* Good understanding of mobile device platforms and core mobile applications.
* ITIL v4 Foundation (or higher) certification is mandatory.
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in IT support or service desk roles.
* Fluency in English and French (written and oral) is required.
* Additional fluency in German (written and oral) is required for a portion of the team.
* Knowledge of other official EU languages is an advantage.
* Excellent communication skills with a diplomatic, empathetic, and user-oriented approach.
* Highly autonomous with strong problem-solving skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while prioritizing user satisfaction.
