As a Senior Structural Design Engineer you will: Lead project teams (task distribution, planning, guiding engineering teams in Belgium and Poland) Conduct conceptual, basic and detailed calculations and simulations to ensure the integrity and safety of the structural crane designs Provide technical expertise to sales engineers, customers and the welding and assembly teams Be involved in re-engineering exercises and you have a particular interest in design reviews and the optimization of engineering and production processes Review both internal and external reports for technical accuracy Work closely with the engineering team in Poland Design devices and steel structures for cranes in 2D & 3D (Creo) from the initial design to detailed production drawings Do strength calculations and report of E-Crane steel structures and mechanical components using both manual calculation and Finite Element Analysis (Creo) Consult with internal departments to determine design limitations (operating conditions, manufacturing and assembly limitations, expected design life, overall functionality, etc.) Follow up on production drawings and provide technical support to CAD designers Conduct feasibility studies Design and do calculations Perform structural analyses using FEM codes Participate in writing technical documents (responding to detailed technical information from customers) and in drafting offers when your expertise is needed Work in a team of about 10 engineers For a job as Senior Structural Design Engineer you have: A Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of pertinent experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering accompanied by at least 10 years of relevant work experience An enthusiasm for working in a dynamic and highly international setting Proficiency in 2D & 3D design, along with experience in Finite Element Analysis and the technical expertise to support manual calculations Practical knowledge of steel types and standards Experience in heavy equipment construction, which is a strong asset but not essential and familiarity with PTC Creo Elements and PTC Windchill is highly advantageous A practical, proactive mindset and the ability to work independently & well-organized A willingness to travel occasionally The knowledge of English to express yourself fluently in both internal and external communications Our client offers the following value package: A permanent, full-time job A competitive salary package (€3500 - €4500) A 13th month and holiday payment Attractive secondary benefits (meal vouchers, Eco vouchers, insurance, hospitalization insurance) Company computer, Internet allowance Company training Bicycle compensation Travel expenses reimbursement Company events You will become part of a stable, expanding, and leading company with a clear vision and strategy where mutual trust and appreciation are highly valued We provide opportunities to dynamic, motivated, and creative individuals: an autonomous role with extensive responsibilities and numerous development possibilities The company is a manufacturer of dependable lifting equipment for the handling of scrap and other bulk materials.
