What you will be doing
We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant to join our Policy and Research team to help us grow our activities in the field of digital policy analysis. In your Senior Consultant role, you will mostly work with EU institution clients, including the European Commission, e.g. DG CONNECT, DG GROW and other Commission services that require IT and digital expertise. As a Senior Consultant, you can expect to:
* Contribute to leading the work within the Policy and Research team as well as with Ecorys partners and clients to advance the field of studies, evaluation and impact assessment related to IT and digital policy.
* Manage exciting and challenging medium- to large-sized pan-European projects, while keeping them within budget and timescale and overseeing teams of other researchers and experts.
* Contribute to drafting proposals for winning work within our Framework Contract for the provision of Studies and related services on digital policy issues with the European Commission (DG CONNECT, CNECT/2022/OP/0036).
* Work with senior colleagues to identify new business opportunities and contribute to proposals for winning work related to a wider spectrum of EU policy areas requiring IT and digital expertise (e.g. digital transformation and automation of policy processes, AI and machine learning applications in policy evaluation and monitoring etc.).
* Utilise your technical skills and EU policy knowledge to design and oversee the implementation of studies for the European Commission.
* Successfully advance and conclude projects through the production of high-quality written reports and presentations of results.
* Manage high-performing, highly motivated and diverse technical delivery teams to work within tight deadlines.
* Assume line management responsibilities of more junior staff members once you have well settled into your role.
What we will need from you
* Experience in the development and delivery of studies in the field of digital policy (e.g. digital transformation, digital skills, connectivity, telecommunication, online platforms, e-commerce, digital public services, the green digital sector, media and digital culture, next-generation internet, AI, online privacy, online safety, cybersecurity or any related topic).
* Solid project management skills as well as in-depth knowledge of a variety of research methods such as desk research, interviews, surveys, focus groups, statistical analysis, etc.
* Applied quantitative/economics research skills are a desirable requirement, including experience in designing, collecting/accessing and analysing quantitative data.
* In addition to strong technical skills, you will need to be equally enthusiastic about business development in this field, with some experience in winning new projects and ideally tender-writing.
* Experience in managing and coordinating teams (including with industry and academic experts as well as partners and subcontractors), as well as developing and maintaining excellent client relationships.
* An outstanding level of spoken and written English, as well as strong presentation skills, are essential.
