Job DescriptionWe are seeking a freelance Oracle Engineer to manage the global Oracle RDBMS infrastructure within our company on Linux environments.Major AccountabilitiesCoordinate and administer Oracle RDBMS installations, configurations, troubleshooting, and maintenance on Linux OS.Assist with development of Oracle RDBMS deployment, support, and maintenance procedures on Linux OS.Troubleshoot and resolve complicated issues within the server operating system, the Oracle RDBMS, applications, affiliated software (e.g., backup), and Data Center Infrastructure environment. Support the 3-level escalation process as required.Assist with assessing and implementing vendor-supplied upgrades, patches, and virus updates related to the Oracle RDBMS environment.Work and partner with internal and external contractors and support personnel to ensure proper transitioning and ongoing support of operational tasks.Incident management: Ensure that all calls are resolved within defined SLAs and all calls are correctly allocated or escalated in line with defined escalation procedures.Assist project and architecture teams to understand Oracle RDBMS and server requirements and define appropriate hardware and software configurations in line with the Data Center and Server standards.Utilization and maintenance of software tools to monitor and manage Oracle RDBMS systems, capacity, and performance.Perform system testing and associated regulatory validations of the Oracle RDBSM environment.Stay aware of new technologies and maintain knowledge. Suggest and help realization of improvement and/or new implementation based on redesign, problem-solving, new technologies, or features to improve the Data Center and server team agility, performance, and reliability.ScopeAssist in the design, planning, and implementation of the Global Oracle RDBMS environment and develop and maintain configurations, deployment, and maintenance utilities, documentation, procedures, and practices.Develop procedures required to maintain and support group and site needs and ensure this documentation is accurately maintained. Assist with defining and maintaining capacity and disaster recovery plans and facilities for this environment. Expected to assist with group projects, and is responsible for efficient, accurate execution of goals in accordance with quality metrics, target dates, and budgets. Exhibit a high degree of technical competence in Oracle RDBMS environments.Experience5 years demonstrated work experience in Oracle RDBMS Environment.Experience in regulated and process-focused computing environment preferred.Experience in hardware (VMware) preferred.Database AdministrationDeep understanding of Oracle database architecture, including memory structures, process architecture, and storage structures.Proficient in Oracle Database versions from 11g upwards and their new features.Advanced expertise in tablespaces, schema management, indexing strategies, and partitioning.Experience with Oracle Advanced Compression, Partitioning.
