PURPOSEThe Regional Supply Chain Director plays a pivotal role in managing and overseeing the supply chain operations within a specific geographic region. This position involves strategic planning, coordination, and execution of supply chain activities to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high performance across the supply chain network.Below is an overview of the typical responsibilities, qualifications, and skills required for this role:The department focuses on two main activities:The analysis of spend, formulation of and implementation of commodity strategies and the development of contracting strategies.Working with the business and sites on the identification & delivery of a commodity strategy for the regions, whilst leveraging global spend in collaboration with Strategic colleagues.Providing contract and commercial support to the global businesses and supply chain function. Collaborate with the Portfolio group on alignment of business needs into contractual frameworks.STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENTThis position is responsible for the allocated sourcing areas including strategic development of sourcing strategies and contract support globally. Provide direction and learning to individual teams around the world, support in the development of skills and knowledge within the teams and support in the development of a talent pipeline.RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Planning and Implementation:Develop and execute supply chain strategies that align with regional and corporate goals.Plan and manage the supply chain budget to optimize costs while maintaining high service levels.Operations Management:Oversee procurement, production, logistics, inventory management, and distribution within the region.Ensure the timely and efficient delivery of products and services.Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement.Vendor and Supplier Management:Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the best terms and conditions for both direct and indirect materials commodities.Assess and manage supplier performance and risks.Team Leadership and Development:Lead, mentor, and develop the regional supply chain team.Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the team.Conduct regular performance reviews and provide feedback and training as needed.Compliance and Risk Management:Ensure compliance with local, regional, and international regulations and standards.Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop mitigation strategies.Maintain a focus on sustainability and ethical sourcing practices.Continuous Improvement:Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain processes.Utilize data and technology to drive innovation and efficiency in supply chain operations.Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENTSupplier Relationship Management (SRM) is of paramount importance for a Pelsis Regional Supply Chain Director, tasked with overseeing direct and indirect spend.
