Within our department “Engineering & Property Services”, we would like to take this role as innovator by handling the infrastructure in a safe, reliable, and efficient way, building an attractive workplace for all our employees.
The sub-department Facilities Operations manages the critical buildings, HVAC, utilities (steam, cooling media, heating fluids, water systems, pressurized air, high voltage, nitrogen, etc.) and installations (steam generator, cooling cells, air handling units, clean rooms, etc.) on the sites of Beerse, Geel, and Olen; from the central production and distribution to our chemical and pharmaceutical production and R&D buildings.
For the team responsible for the maintenance and exploitation of the production buildings and utilities in Geel, we are currently looking for a Staff Process Engineer.
You will be accountable for:
Participating in the long-term vision of the site by developing a masterplan and deriving projects out of this. By doing this, you will ensure the business continuity, sustainability, enhance energy efficiency, safety, and quality of the operational processes of the production equipment, building infrastructure, and utilities for our customer.
Leading from idea until approval of the project for execution in close collaboration with colleagues and external partners.
Being responsible for capturing, evaluating, and implementing the necessary process optimizations and new technical needs of J&J, external organizations, and customers looking at the complete LCC of our installations.
Acting as a mentor for junior peers.
Preventing technological aging of our assets looking from our customer priority perspective. In line with customer priorities, max energy/cost efficiency and a professional risk-based policy looking at safety, quality, and reliability.
Building and maintaining an intern/extern network to support in your activities.
Collaborating with several internal stakeholders (management, project engineers, technicians, EHS, QA, etc.) and external parties (consultants, government, etc.).
Sustainability and energy are a passion for you where you support this vision in a realistic manner.
Responsibilities:
Developing a thorough knowledge on utilities (connectivity, dependencies, distribution, etc.). You are the expert for energy systems, heat storage, expansion of our current heat net, hydraulic optimization, etc.
Custom made solutions based on the site needs – implemented independently via projects including documentation and validation.
You are the lead for all process scoping (conceptual design criteria for investment projects).
As a customer of our project delivery department, you will provide URS/SRR and co-create TBN’s, review necessary documents (PID, 3D, etc.) and perform FAT/SAT tests.
Qualifications
Engineering degree (civil/industrial) or equivalent through experience. Multidisciplinary knowledge (process, electricity, mechanics, hydraulics, thermodynamics, etc.).
Excellent communication skills (Dutch/English).
Knowledge of Chemical/Pharmaceutical manufacturing is a strong asset.
Innovative/Agile/Result driven – capable of working independently.
Out of the box thinker to introduce new technologies/best practices.
Team player.
