Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and motivated Hardware Engineer for a permanent job position in the industrial engineering, working on cutting-edge electronic systems.
This role requires expertise in PCB design and hardware testing as well as familiarity with embedded software programming (C on microcontrollers), and hardware testing.
Additionally, you will provide occasional technical support to customers, assisting them with troubleshooting and optimizing hardware performance.
As a key member of the engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, and validation of industrial electronics, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and optimize schematics and PCB layouts for industrial electronic systems.
* Select appropriate components and materials to ensure durability and compliance with industrial standards.
* Work with EDA tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar) to design multi-layer PCBs.
* Conduct signal integrity analysis and thermal management considerations in PCB designs.
* Collaborate with manufacturers to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) best practices.
* Develop and maintain firmware in C for microcontrollers used in industrial applications.
* Implement communication protocols (e.g., SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Modbus) for interfacing with sensors, actuators, and other hardware.
* Optimize embedded software for performance, power efficiency, and reliability.
* Debug software and hardware issues using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
* Work with real-time operating systems (RTOS) when required.
* Conduct functional, performance, and stress testing of hardware components and systems.
* Develop and execute test plans to ensure products meet design specifications and reliability requirements.
* Analyze test results, identify root causes of failures, and implement design improvements.
* Ensure compliance with EMC, safety, and industry-specific regulatory requirements.
* Assist customers with hardware troubleshooting and performance optimization.
* Provide guidance on integration, setup, and maintenance of industrial electronic systems.
* Work closely with the support team to resolve hardware and firmware-related issues.
* Document technical solutions and contribute to knowledge bases for future reference.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, software developers, and production teams.
* Create and maintain detailed documentation, including schematics, BOMs, test reports, and firmware guidelines.
* Participate in design reviews to improve product quality and reliability.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
* 2+ years of experience in PCB design, embedded systems, and hardware testing.
* Experience in PCB design using tools like Altium, KiCad, Eagle, or OrCAD.
* Proficiency in C programming for microcontrollers (e.g., STM32, PIC, AVR, ARM Cortex-M, etc.).
* Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design.
* Experience with hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, logic analyzers, etc.).
* Familiarity with embedded communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, CAN, Modbus, etc.).
* Basic knowledge of power electronics and motor control is a plus.
* Problem-solving mindset with strong analytical skills.
* Attention to detail in circuit design and debugging.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Good communication skills to interact with customers and internal teams.
* Willingness to occasionally provide technical support to customers.
The Offer:
* A salary & benefits package commensurate with experience
