Our client is a global manufacturing business operating within the petrochemical and wider industrial markets. With an annual group turnover of €18 billion EUR, they have over 7,000 employees worldwide. As a company, they aim to become fully circular and thus intend to accelerate the transformation to a climate-neutral and resource-conserving economy.
As the company continues to expand, having recently taken investment, they are now looking to further strengthen their contract management department.
You
As an experienced Contract and Claims Manager, you will provide comprehensive claims support to the project during its execution phase. With more than 10 years of experience, you will have a strong understanding of international projects and various contract types, including EPC, EPCM, lump-sum, and re-measurable. It is imperative that you are skilled at managing and defending claims and can write claims letters/narratives. The candidate must be able to work independently and autonomously. You will be fluent in English, with Dutch, German, or Italian being desirable.
Role and Responsibilities
The role focuses on securing and protecting contractual and commercial entitlements while mitigating risks and ensuring compliance with established procedures. Key responsibilities include:
* Liaising with the site team to address contractual and claims-related issues, drafting relevant correspondence and notices, and administering systems and processes for contract and claims management.
* Conducting risk assessments, providing training and workshops to improve the project team’s awareness of claims and change management, and advising on maintaining accurate records to support compliance and substantiation.
* Preparing and reporting on claims and changes within required timeframes, managing complex contractual issues, and offering support during formal dispute resolution processes.
* Acting as an advisor to the project management team, ensuring that all contractual and claims-related activities are effectively managed and aligned with project objectives.
Consultant Engagement
The role is site-based with some hybrid flexibility on Mondays and Fridays (2 days WFH, subject to project needs). It offers an all-inclusive rate (excl. VAT), with standard hours of 8 AM–5 PM and overtime only if pre-approved. The position is contracted annually, renewable until the end of 2026/start of 2027. The ideal start date is January.
Due to the urgent nature of this role, it is important you have the right to work in the EU.
