Description
This position is with the Global Strategic Communications Council (GSCC), a global network of communications professionals in the field of climate, energy and nature. GSCC is a programme hosted by the Meliore Foundation.
We're looking for an innovative Media Outreach and Communications Associate, Information Integrity, who is passionate about combating climate change and disinformation. This position requires strategic communications skills coupled with the ability to take creative initiative and drive solutions independently.
As part of an international team of expert communicators, the successful candidate will provide strategic communications capacity on issues related to climate change and information integrity. You will work to curb climate disinformation by developing compelling narratives and supporting partners in effectively landing their stories. You will contribute to the design and implement strategic communications interventions to ensure that decision-makers, governments, and the media understand the threat disinformation poses to climate action.

How you'll contribute
* Lead the development of compelling narratives that expose climate disinformation networks, tactics and actors behind those attacks and support partners in effectively landing their stories to curb climate disinformation;
* Design and implement strategic communications interventions to ensure decision-makers, government and actors in the media ecosystem understand the threat disinformation poses to climate action;
* Lead the development and execution of strategic communications projects and initiatives to identify and analyze key trends in climate disinformation, including emerging tactics, actors, and platforms;
* Proactively track developments and design reactive interventions when necessary;
* Closely follow the political and media debates on anti-disinformation and information integrity to identify opportunities for strategic engagement. Liaise with network colleagues and provide support with insights and contacts;
* Develop and implement strategies to shape and amplify newsworthy media stories from the global network;
* Develop and maintain relationships with key journalists, editors and other actors in the media ecosystem;
* Proactively identify and engage new partners, going above and beyond to provide support and build collaborative relationships;
* Provide strategic advice, communications, and outreach support to partners. Build new partnerships in research, policy, advocacy, and media;
* Provide communications support to the Information Integrity and Anti-Disinformation team by helping to prioritise initiatives, assist in coordinating projects, and contribute to the smooth execution of strategic goals;
* Write and commission impactful content, such as contributed editorial work and digital content focusing on exposing climate disinformation operations and their impacts on climate action;
* Demonstrate organisational and project management skills to plan, execute, and track progress on multiple initiatives simultaneously;
* Any other duties to be assigned from time to time.

* Proven professional experience in communications, journalism, or campaigning;
* Existing relationships with key climate, energy, information integrity, or technology correspondents (or the ability to develop these swiftly);
* Outstanding English language skills and proven ability to produce engaging written materials;
* Capacity for strategic thinking with the ability to contribute to the development and implementation of robust communications plans;
