We are seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Data Analyst to join our growing team in Cambridge, MA or Ghent, BE. As a key member of the Computational Biology team, you will collaborate with computational biologists, bioinformatics data analysts and AI teams to support bioinformatics pipeline development and internal tool creation. Your role will be instrumental in analyzing and integrating multiomics data to drive impactful scientific discoveries.
You should be organized, efficient, and proactive, capable of delivering high-quality code and results while effectively communicating complex bioinformatics processes to diverse stakeholders. Adaptability and a startup mindset are essential, as you will take on additional responsibilities as needed to support our ambitious goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Analyze and interpret complex biological data, including but not limited to genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics.
* Develop and implement computational pipelines for multiomics data integration.
* Work with Project Lead and other Scientists to design and execute bioinformatics projects.
* Build and maintain reproducible bioinformatics pipelines and reports to support new scientific initiatives.
* Track and optimize pipeline performance, identifying areas for efficiency improvements.
* Troubleshoot challenges, develop effective solutions, and adapt to a fast-paced research environment.
* Communicate findings and methodologies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
* BS or MS in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
* Strong experience with multiomics data analysis and integration.
* Proficiency in Python and/or R for bioinformatics tool and pipeline development.
* Familiarity with cloud computing environments and databases.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
* A passion for developing high-impact, innovative solutions in the agricultural space.
* Adaptability, curiosity, and enthusiasm for tackling new challenges.
ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
* Knowledge of machine learning techniques is a plus, but not required.
* Experience with cloud computing and high-performance computing environments.
* Background in plant genetics and genomics data analysis.
