The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Director of Sales for Aquaculture Hatchery based in Olen, Belgium. This position is part of our Hatchery and Specialty Ingredients business unit, resulting from the merge of two legacy businesses: Bernaqua based in Belgium and Epicore Bionetworks based in Eastampton NJ, USA, as well as an affiliate in Ecuador. The main purpose of this role is to lead the North and Latin American teams as well as support the European and Asian teams for the commercial development of all hatchery feeds and probiotics.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the President for Growth & Marketing, the Director will oversee a total staff of approximately 30 people and sales of circa $20m of very profitable sales in the following countries by order of turnover:
* Ecuador
* India
* Norway
* Vietnam
* Saudi Arabia
* Honduras
* Indonesia
* United States
* Brazil
* Mexico
* Turkey
The Director is the representative of ADM Hatchery and Probiotics in the region. His/her main duties will include:
* Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain goals.
* Gather relevant market information (market, competitors, regulation, business environment, etc.) and propose development strategies to the President of Growth and Marketing.
* Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans for the area of Latin America.
* Actively manage our existing portfolio of distributors to boost our sales.
* Plan cost-effective operations and market development activities.
* Build long-term, trusting relationships with the key business partners including local affiliates and distributors.
* Oversee the business’ financial performance, investments, and other business ventures.
* Supervise the work of the team, providing guidance and motivation to drive maximum performance.
* Ensure performance appraisal, training, and professional development activities.
* Reward performance, prevent issues and resolve problems.
* Execute public speaking and representational appearances in a professional manner.
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Business Administration, Animal Nutrition or any related field, and specific experience in hatchery aquaculture.
* Business development background with over 10 years in aquaculture or related experience.
* A successful track record at managing multi-country P&L is essential.
* Entrepreneurial mindset.
* Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish.
* International mindset, an appreciation for cultural differences, to work in a matrix organization, and an understanding of market dynamics and business practices in key International companies/MNC.
* Proficient in Office 365 including collaborative tools such as Skype or Teams.
* High organizational skills and ability to multitask and meet changing deadlines.
* Ability to prioritize own workload, exquisite time management skills.
* Keen learner with positive attitude, flexibility, and adaptability to changes.
* Good interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong sense of integrity and responsibility.
