Education & Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in data science, Business Analytics, Marketing, or a related area of study, or equivalent through experience
2. Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis and business analysis, preferably in fundraising
Competencies
3. Proficiency in data analysis tools, CRM systems, digital marketing, and data governance practices
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Proficiency in data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Click
6. Proficiency in SQL for data analysis & manipulation and management
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills
8. Translate complex data insights into clear, compelling narratives and effectively communicate them to diverse audiences
9. Teamwork, collaborative
10. Motivation and interest to work with a humanitarian organization, and particularly with MSF
Languages
11. Proficient level in English, both spoken and written, is mandatory
12. Good knowledge of French needed
13. Good knowledge of Dutch is an asset
Description
CONTEXT
The communication and fundraising MSF Belgium department is organized in 5 different teams: Information and Media, Engagement and Acquisition, Face to face Acquisition, Supporter Loyalty and Strategic Partnerships. To achieve the objectives, those teams develop strategies translated into actions that need to be supported by strong and future proof tools and solutions.
That’s why we are creating a new Communication and Fundraising Support and Solutions Team which will be responsible for the product ownership of the CRM, the Donors Hub, the Website, the digital payment platforms (and other smaller products and solutions) as well as for the Data Analysis.
As the Fundraising Data Analyst, you will be responsible for managing and analyzing data related to communication and fundraising activities. You will work in close collaboration with other members of the Communications & Fundraising Department and of the Data Analytics & Governance team to identify data needs, optimize data processes, analyze data, and provide data-driven insights for informed decision-making. Additionally, you will play a key role in ensuring data integrity and accuracy by managing the data structure, creating new data models, and developing meaningful reports using Power BI.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
14. Drive the department’s analytic transformation by mastering and refining the intricate communication and fundraising digital system
15. Collaborate with end-users to analyze and gather requirements, understand their data and reporting needs
16. Perform in-depth data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and insights in communication and fundraising activities
17. Prepare comprehensive data stories and reports to present complex findings in a clear, compelling, and actionable manner, including non-technical stakeholders
18. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across reports by implementing and monitoring quality checks
19. Document data models, processes, and reports, and ensure that documentation and audit trail are kept up to date
20. Collaborate with data engineers to build and maintain a Communications & Fundraising data repository to deliver insights and create data products following the Data Mesh philosophy
21. Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance to maintain data integrity and security, and ensure compliance with existing data governance practices
22. Collaborate with other data analysts across different departments to share insights, best practices, and ensure consistency in data analysis methodologies and reporting standards
23. Stay updated with the latest developments in data analysis tools and techniques, and proactively propose and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of data processes
CONDITIONS
24. Expected starting date: March 2025
25. Location: Brussels (Belgium)
26. Contract type: open-ended contract – full-time – Up to 50% homeworking per week
27. Salary according to MSF-OCB HQ salary grid
