Mission/purpose
The Senior E2E architect is responsible for:
1. The development of the technical strategy of the domain he is responsible for
2. Translation of business requirements into technical requirements
3. The selection and/or development of a technical solution/architecture:
4. That is compliant with the business and technical needs
5. That takes into account the reality of the existing solution
6. That takes advantage as much as possible of state-of-the-art/emerging technologies
7. That is qualitative and cost-efficient
Main responsibilities
8. Technical Strategy : Development of the technical strategy of the domain he is responsible for
9. Network Design : Designing telecommunications network architecture considering factors such as scalability, reliability, and performance.
10. Technology Evaluation : Evaluating new telecom technologies and solutions to enhance network capabilities, improve efficiency, and reduce costs.
11. Requirements Analysis : Collaborating with stakeholders to gather and analyse business requirements, translating them into technical specifications for network infrastructure.
12. Solution Development : Developing comprehensive telecom solutions, that meet business needs and regulatory and standard compliance, take into account the impact on existing systems and operations, are future proof and leverage state-of-the-art technologies.
13. Transversality (E2E view): Assuring that proposed solutions are fully integrated with existing telecom and IT systems, and ,in case of transversal solutions, that the different components are fully interoperable
14. Vendor and external Partner Management : Collaborating with telecom vendors and external partners to evaluate offerings, negotiate contracts, discuss designs&roadmaps and validate offered products and services.
15. Network Optimization : Conducting performance analysis and optimization of telecom networks to maximize efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
16. Documentation : Creating and maintaining detailed documentation, including network diagrams, configurations, and procedures, to support system maintenance and troubleshooting.
17. Technical Support : Providing technical support and guidance to network engineers to facilitate the transition towards the implementation and operational phase of a project
Qualifications
18. Master's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
19. Proven experience (5+ years) in mobile telecommunications, with a focus on Radio Access Network design, optimization, and performance management.
20. Strong understanding of wireless communications theory and modulation principles.
21. Deep understanding of mobile RAN technologies and protocols, including GSM, UMTS, LTE, and emerging technologies such as 5G NR.
22. Expertise in RF planning and optimization tools.
23. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse complex network performance issues and develop effective solutions.
24. Experience with RAN equipment from major vendors, such as Ericsson, Nokia, Huawei, or Samsung.
25. Proficiency in radio spectrum planning tools and simulation software.
26. Knowledge of network performance monitoring and analysis tools, such as NetAct, ENIQ, or similar systems.
27. Excellent analytical skills to assess network performance and identify interference issues.
28. Good understanding of regulations and policies related to radio spectrum.
29. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic and evolving environment.
30. Strong communication skills to present reports and recommendations clearly and effectively.
31. Fluent English, French and/or Dutch would be a plus.
