As Finance Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy and driving business success and growth. You will have a broad and impactful scope, from overseeing financial operations to influencing strategic decisions.
Your responsibilities
1. Lead Finance Operations & Compliance: You ensure compliance with local regulations and group policies in accounting, reporting, and tax matters. You oversee and verify the financial statements, ensuring their accuracy and reliability. As Finance Director, you also guide and support an Accounting Manager, who leads a team of three accountants.
2. Drive Budgeting & Financial Strategy: You spearhead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to align financial plans with business goals. You proactively monitor budget adherence and provide key insights to leadership (forecasting).
3. Provide Business-Critical Insights: Together with your finance team and as a trusted sparring partner for the Managing Director and other management team members, you conduct financial and business analyses to support data-driven decision-making. You translate complex financial data into clear, strategic recommendations that drive growth.
4. Ensure Internal Control & Risk Management: You establish and refine policies to maintain compliance with both group and local requirements. You also oversee risk management, ensuring the business remains secure in areas such as legal, compliance, and GDPR.
5. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR): You track and report on CSR-related KPIs and contribute to sustainability and social responsibility initiatives, making a real impact beyond the numbers.
Your profile
6. You have several years of experience in a finance leadership role, such as Finance Director or CFO, within an international environment. Experience as a Group Controller can also be considered, provided there is a strong business interaction, connection, understanding, and impact.
7. You combine strong business acumen with analytical skills, enabling you to balance strategic and operational priorities. You support decision-making with thorough analyses, controlling, forecasting and risk management.
8. You have proven experience managing teams, fostering an environment of ownership and accountability. You communicate fluently in Dutch, English, and French and can engage with both internal and external stakeholders.
9. You have in-depth expertise in compliance, accounting, and tax-related matters. Preferably, you also have knowledge of legal aspects.
10. Proficiency in Excel, Access, and Power BI is required.
