As the Senior Energy Trader for Flexcity Belgium, with at least 4 years of experience, you will:
* Secure and optimise operationally and financially our portfolio of energy producing and consuming assets, through different grid services, while managing associated risks.
* Support Flexcitys growth by supporting business development teams.
* Keep a strong sense of collaboration and partnership within the portfolio team, and between the team and other departments of Flexcity.
Portfolio management is a crucial responsibility at Flexcity, as the team constantly valorise the current portfolio on the different markets as well as keep an important relationship with our customers. The responsibilities of the Senior Energy Trader include:
* Operations 50%
o Managing the daily and yearly tenders of the network operators: determining the available capacity in the portfolio and the corresponding bidding strategy based on market information and technical constraints of our portfolio.
o Optimising and executing the bidding strategy.
o Processing the bidding results and configure the portfolio accordingly for service delivery.
o Monitoring the proper delivery with proactive risk management.
o Onboarding new assets smoothly, in collaboration with the delivery team.
* Development of customised solutions 30%
o In support of the business development team, to provide flexibility valuation studies and key differentiators in tailored offers to asset owners.
o In coordination with the research and development team, contributing to the evolution of our tools and processes.
* Operational performance reporting and administration 20%
o Reporting and communicating operational results to our customers and partners.
o Managing financial settlements between the network operator, asset owners and energy suppliers.
o Monitoring regulatory changes: participation in workshops and working groups of the network operator.
Key Qualifications
Hard Skills
1. Fluent in English, with other languages considered as a plus: Dutch and/or French.
2. Mandatory knowledge in the Google Cloud Platform and Python environment.
3. Solid foundation in the energy sector, preferably electricity markets, ideally well versed in Ancillary Services.
4. Familiar with the network balancing services and the regulation of the electricity sector in Belgium (knowledge in other EU countries will be taken into account as well).
