As an Engineer in the petrochemical sector, you play a leading role in the design, development and improvement of a plant and you work closely together on the largest projects. Together with a team of experts, you will provide efficient and sustainable solutions that meet the highest standards.
Responsibilities
Scope of Responsibilities:
* Lead and supervise design and drafting activities for greenfield and brownfield projects.
* Independently manage projects with minimum supervision and coordinate with multiple stakeholders such as project managers, engineers, and construction teams.
* Good practical knowledge of LV and MV electrical installations.
* Prepare and develop electrical design in DEFINE, DESIGN and EXECUTE phases of the projects with quality, clarity, and consistency.
* Ensure design deliverables are completed and issued per project specifications, procedures, and within schedule and budgets.
* Set priorities, organize own work, and meet project goals.
* Previous experience in greenfield and brownfield projects and capable of handling multiple projects.
* Communicate and liaise with multiple internal and external stakeholders such as Clients, Vendors, and Project teams.
* Maintain responsibility for progress and productivity, identifying any required corrective action to meet schedules.
* Identify changes to scope and promptly raise change notifications.
* Ensure consistency for all drawings and conduct thorough checks to ensure correctness of the technical content and the quality of the engineering drawings.
* Attend project meetings if required.
* Prepare sketches and markups as required to provide input to the drafting team.
* Be capable of doing drafting modifications in AutoCAD and E-Plan.
* Prepare and check design deliverables such as Block Diagrams, Electrical Equipment Room Layouts, Cable Tray/Trench Layouts, earthing layouts, and typical installation details.
* Develop clash-free designs.
* Review other discipline drawings if required.
* Issue engineering drawings and layouts for Inter-Discipline Checks (IDC’s).
* Perform and check calculations such as cable tray fill calculations, lighting calculations, trench and duct bank sizing, etc.
* Knowledge of single line diagrams, connection diagrams, schematics, etc.
* Assist Engineers in vendor document review, input to MTO, and other design/engineering activities.
* Coordinate with construction teams to resolve site queries and clarifications.
* Check As Built drawings and issue As Built package to the client.
Requirements
Competencies/Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Good Coordination and communication Skills.
* Follows directives and instructions.
* Well versed in the use of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, E-Plan, etc.
* Thorough knowledge of Safety and Quality Procedures.
* Knowledge of international Standards and codes i.e. IEC, ISA, and ISO codes.
Essential Qualifications and Education:
* High School graduate with a diploma in Electrical Design, or equivalent experience.
* More than 10 years with a major contractor or consultant in oil and gas or chemicals.
