Summary
As a marine coordinator you will be part of the marine operations team within the QHSE department of DEME. DEME's objective is to provide a healthy work environment, to promote sound work practices and a healthy lifestyle for everyone involved in our business. QHSE is therefore one of the supportive departments that is involved in all Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental matters on our projects, vessels, and in HQ.

7. Assist crew and staff with maritime QHSE-S related matters;
8. Are the liaison with vessel management;
9. Assist DPA/CSO in ISM and ISPS related matters;
10. Will carry out/accompany audits and inspections on board (short missions abroad);
11. Follow the implementation of the safety management system on board the fleet;
12. Follow-up and implement relevant rules and regulations;
13. Will gather and analyze data from Port State Control, internal and external audits, dangerous situations, near misses and accidents and makes sure adequate corrective and preventive measures are implemented in order to improve the safety management system;
14. Report and communicate with projects about QHSE-S aspects of the vessels;
15. Think along with marine operations department about QHSE-S improvement matters that concern the entire DEME fleet;
16. You hold a higher education degree (preferably Master (or Bachelor) nautical degree) or equal through experience;
17. You have several years of experience in a similar role;
18. You speak and write fluent English, knowledge of Dutch is a plus;
19. You preferably have a basic knowledge in French;
20. You take responsibilities, are proactive, problem solving and have a flexible attitude;
21. You are QHSE-S driven and a team player;
22. You are prepared to travel abroad for short periods of time.
