We are currently looking for a committed and driven Financial Business Unit Manager to reinforce our enthusiastic financial team. In this position, you will have an important amount of autonomy from the start, supported by an established financial environment. You will begin with two to three business segments, but with the right talent, you can grow soon into full business unit empowerment.
Your tasks:
· Financial steering of acquisitions and projects
· Supervision of monthly closing and forecasting activities
· Motivating and driving direct reports
· Acting as a reliable partner for the business unit manager
· Overseeing financial performance of business segments
· Analyzing and addressing performance topics or issues
· Providing regular reporting to HQ and local management
· Preparing ad-hoc reporting to support decision making
Your skills:
Essential:
· Master’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics
· 10+ years of proven experience in business controlling or financial project management
· General accounting background (IFRS15) or mastery of project accounting (PoC)
· Ability to forecast and budget with vision, solid assumption building, and scenario analysis
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities combined with a critical mindset
· Eagerness to understand the business and tell the story behind the figures
· Proficiency in Dutch or French with a good command of the other language
· Solid professional level of English for communication with various headquarters
Preferred:
· Experience in driving business transformation and digitalization in finance
· Strong affinity with the world of safe and sustainable transportation
· Enjoyment in working on challenging projects that impact society and everyday lives
