The Mission:
We are seeking an Engineering Delivery Manager for a client in the defense sector. The Engineering Delivery Manager will serve as the technical project leader, coordinating all engineering activities for various projects, both internally and with subcontractors and customers. You will be responsible for ensuring that project costs, schedules, and quality standards are met through effective organization and orchestration of all engineering work, while considering industrial and service-related constraints.
You will collaborate closely with the Product Design Authority, Project Manager, and the broader engineering team to drive the definition of development strategy, tailor standard processes, practices, and tools, track progress across the entire development lifecycle, and manage risks and opportunities.
Main Responsibilities:
* Define the engineering delivery strategy and resource profile based on engineering estimates to ensure successful project delivery.
* Develop work packages for the engineering team, detailing required resources, assigned budgets, associated risks and assumptions, and timelines to meet contract schedules, costs, and quality standards.
* Ensure that the system and its sub-components (hardware and software design) are consistent with technical specifications and functional requirements.
* Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team, proactively addressing issues, opportunities, and risks.
* Interface with the customer on both technical and non-technical aspects of the solution.
* Drive and report on engineering efficiency for the project.
* Act as the People Manager for the engineering team, providing feedback for performance reviews with functional discipline leads.
Profile:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering. Knowledge in Electronics/Telecommunications is a plus.
* At least 7 years of relevant experience in technical product management or project management.
* Strong background in engineering with a proven track record of successfully defining and leading multidisciplinary engineering projects.
* Highly customer-focused with excellent communication skills, capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment with multiple parallel objectives.
* Passionate about learning new technologies and methodologies, with strong problem-solving skills.
* Results-oriented, cost-conscious, proactive, and self-motivated.
* Knowledge of AGILE methodology and process-driven approaches.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; knowledge of French is a valuable asset.
* Ability to manage multiple complexities to achieve business objectives and engage with various stakeholders.
* Skilled in managing risk, identifying opportunities, and fostering continuous improvement to create a competitive advantage.
