The Role
Are you passionate about innovation and eager to contribute to the development of sustainable, oil-free compressors? At Airtec product engineering, we’re seeking an energetic and motivated mechanical designer to join our mission. As part of our team FTO, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of oil free low- and medium pressure compressors. Our product team oversees the entire process, from research and design to testing prototypes and serial product introduction of two types of compressors. Projects range from product upgrades to starting from a blank slate in pursuit of the next technological innovation.
As a Mechanical Designer, you play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence and successful product introduction.
Your responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, from collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensuring the quality and coherence of the design.
Here’s what you will do:
1. Design solutions: Apply your 3D insights, innovative approach and knowledge of different manufacturing techniques to develop design solutions which are producible, competitive and reliable.
2. Bring your design to life: Take the lead of prototype preparation, from ordering components to hands-on coordinating the assembly in the lab or test cell.
3. Product design ownership: Using your eye for details, ensure that all 2D/3D drawings and instructions are kept in order and released in our product lifecycle management system.
4. Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate and delegate tasks to colleague designers while actively aligning with stakeholders (lab, sourcing, quality, prototype suppliers, production…).
5. Project involvement: Participate in all project phases from feasibility studies to product introduction and serial production.
6. Innovation scouting: Actively scout innovating solutions and stay up-to-date with emerging technologies.
In this position you will report to the teamleader product engineering (FTO).
