Your Work Context
Jan De Nul Group offers specialised services for the offshore renewable energy market. Whether it concerns seabed preparation, scour protection, subsea cables, umbilicals, monopile or jacket foundations, wind turbines or offshore substations: everything is always tailored to the needs of the client and on an EPC-basis if required. Do you want to be part of our international team?
Your Role
As Installation Analysis Engineer, you provide technical support for our Heavy Lift Installation Vessels, from early development until project execution. You identify the engineering requirements of the lifting & transport process and help define and detail execution methods. Together with the Installation Manager or Engineering Manager you start and follow up the studies, if necessary in cooperation with external departments or engineering offices.
Your tasks and responsibilities include:
* Interpret and analyse the project specific design parameters and investigate the most optimal installation vessel and execution method for the project, which could be installation of foundations (for example monopiles) and/or installation of wind turbines.
* Draw up deck arrangements & lifting methods, with a view to execution.
* Determine the requirements and expectations of mission equipment, such as lifting gear, seafastening structures or sophisticated deck equipment.
* Lead and coordinate the draughtsmen with a view to draw up lifting & rigging plans.
* Perform hydrodynamic installation analysis for heavy lift operations in order to determine the workable seastate of heavy lift operations.
* Assist in analysing stability and suitability of elevating the jack-up installation vessels (site specific assessment).
* Identify and report technical project risks, both in tender and execution phase.
* Follow up on the lifting works during execution.
* Assist in R&D projects to develop future ships and installation methods.
* Cooperate with the Tender, Technical and Operation Departments in order to share knowledge and optimize the works.
What do you need?
You're an engineer (civil, structural or naval architect) with an affinity for heavy lifting in the construction or offshore sector. You have strong analytical skills and you work very detailed.
Understanding of hydrodynamic aspects of marine structures, wave theories, etc. is beneficial. Also, knowledge and experience with Orcaflex and/or CAD software is beneficial.
You'll work from the office in Aalst, but make short trips abroad on a regular basis.
